Section 145 of the Criminal Procedure Code

Section 145 of the Criminal Procedure Code addresses situations where a dispute about land or water arises and there's a risk of violence or disturbance. It allows a magistrate to temporarily keep the peace and prevent unlawful acts by issuing an order—called a "while-warrant"—that directs parties to maintain the status quo until a full investigation or trial can determine the rightful ownership or title. This procedure aims to prevent clashes and preserve peace while legal rights are assessed through proper judicial channels.
