Secondary lymphoid organs

Secondary lymphoid organs are key parts of the immune system where immune cells like lymphocytes gather, communicate, and respond to infections or threats. Examples include lymph nodes, the spleen, and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (such as tonsils). These organs act as meeting points, filtering pathogens from blood and lymph, and helping immune cells recognize and fight germs effectively. They do not produce immune cells themselves but are essential sites for initiating and coordinating immune responses, ensuring the body defends itself against infections efficiently.
