Second Voyage
The Second Voyage was Christopher Columbus’s return expedition to the Americas in 1493, after his first voyage in 1492. Sponsored by Spain, it aimed to establish colonies and explore new territories. Columbus traveled with a larger fleet, bringing settlers, animals, and supplies to build settlements. The voyage confirmed the existence of new lands across the Atlantic and laid the groundwork for European exploration and colonization. While it expanded European knowledge of the New World, it also marked the beginning of complex interactions with indigenous peoples, often resulting in conflict and significant cultural changes.
