Second Republic of Poland
The Second Republic of Poland was the independent Polish state established after World War I, in 1918, following over a century of partitions by neighboring empires. It marked Poland’s revival as a sovereign nation, with its own government, constitution, and borders. This period, lasting until 1939, was characterized by efforts to rebuild the country, develop its economy, and strengthen national identity. It faced challenges like political instability, border conflicts, and economic difficulties, ultimately ending with the outbreak of World War II when Poland was invaded by Germany and the Soviet Union.
