seborrheic dermatitis

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes redness, greasy or flaky patches, and sometimes itching, mainly in oily areas like the scalp, sides of the nose, eyebrows, or behind the ears. It’s related to an overgrowth of a yeast called Malassezia and can be influenced by factors like genetics, stress, or weather changes. While the exact cause isn’t fully understood, it’s chronic but manageable with treatments such as medicated shampoos, creams, or lotions. It’s not contagious and doesn’t cause serious health problems, but persistent symptoms may require medical attention for relief.
