Seawalls

Seawalls are structures built along coastlines or shorelines to protect land from erosion and damage caused by waves, storms, and rising sea levels. Usually made of concrete, stone, or other sturdy materials, they act as barriers that absorb or deflect the force of incoming water, preventing it from washing away the shoreline or flooding inland areas. Seawalls help safeguard property, infrastructure, and ecosystems, especially in areas prone to erosion or high storm activity. While effective, they can also impact natural coastal habitats and may require ongoing maintenance or upgrades.
