Sea of the Dead (in Islam)
In Islamic tradition, the "Sea of the Dead" (or "Barzakh") refers to an intermediate state or realm where souls reside after death, before the Day of Judgment. It is neither heaven nor hell but a temporary period where souls are awaiting their ultimate outcome. This realm allows for some form of consciousness and possibly a preview of one’s fate based on one's deeds. The concept emphasizes accountability and the importance of righteous actions in this life, as the soul's experience in Barzakh reflects its spiritual state until it is resurrected for final judgment.
