Sea Anchors

A sea anchor is a device used by boats to resist drifting with strong currents or winds, helping the vessel stay stable and oriented correctly. It functions like a parachute or a drogue, creating drag in the water to slow movement and prevent capsizing or drifting off course. Sea anchors are especially useful in stormy conditions or when maneuvering in rough seas, allowing sailors to maintain control and safety. They are deployed from the bow (front) of the boat and can be retrieved once the situation stabilizes.
