Scottish Hydro-Electric

Scottish Hydro-Electric was a UK-based utility company responsible for generating and supplying electricity primarily in Scotland. It was founded in 1989 following the nationalization and restructuring of the electricity industry. The company operated a range of hydroelectric, wind, and other renewable power sources, contributing to the UK's energy needs. In 1996, Scottish Hydro-Electric merged with Southern Electric to form Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), creating one of the UK's largest energy providers. SSE continues to supply electricity and gas, focusing on sustainable energy and infrastructure across the UK.
