Scottish Executive

The Scottish Executive was the government body responsible for governing Scotland from 1999 to 2007, when it was renamed the Scottish Government. It handled areas such as education, health, transportation, and environment within Scotland, operating under the authority of the UK Parliament and the Scottish Parliament. Headed by the First Minister, it implemented Scottish policies and managed public services. The establishment aimed to give Scotland more autonomy and local decision-making powers, reflecting Scotland's distinct administrative needs while remaining part of the United Kingdom.
