Scotopic vision
Scotopic vision refers to the way we see in low-light or night conditions, primarily relying on rod cells in our eyes. These cells are highly sensitive to light but do not detect color, so our night vision appears in shades of gray. Unlike daytime (photopic) vision, scotopic vision allows us to detect movement and shapes in darkness but with reduced detail and no color perception. This system adapts quickly to darkness, enabling us to navigate low-light environments effectively.
