SCIRT (Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team)

SCIRT, or the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team, was a collaborative effort established after the 2010-2011 Christchurch earthquakes. Its primary goal was to repair and upgrade the city’s essential infrastructure—such as roads, bridges, water systems, and sewerage—damaged by the earthquakes. By working efficiently and in partnership with government agencies and contractors, SCIRT aimed to restore critical services, improve resilience, and support the city’s recovery. The team coordinated large-scale construction projects, focusing on safety, quality, and timely delivery, ultimately helping Christchurch rebuild a stronger and more reliable infrastructure for the future.
