School Health Advisory Committee
A School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) is a group made up of school officials, health professionals, parents, and community members who work together to promote student health and well-being. They develop and review policies and programs related to nutrition, physical activity, mental health, and safety within schools. The goal is to create a supportive environment that encourages healthy habits and addresses health concerns, ensuring that students have the resources and knowledge to thrive academically and physically. Essentially, SHACs serve as a bridge between health guidance and the school community to foster healthier students.
