Schneider's ASA Model
Schneider's ASA Model explains how organizations tend to attract, select, and retain similar types of people. "Attract" means they draw in individuals whose values and styles match the organization. "Select" involves choosing candidates who fit well with the company's culture. "Attrition" (or "stay") refers to how employees who don’t align are more likely to leave over time. This process creates a workforce with shared characteristics, reinforcing the organization's identity. In essence, the ASA Model shows that organizations naturally become more uniform as they choose and keep employees who match their existing culture.
