Schlemms canal
Schlemm's canal is a circular structure in the eye that helps drain liquid from the front part of the eye, called the anterior chamber. This drainage is essential for maintaining a healthy pressure inside the eye. If Schlemm's canal or its related pathways become blocked or impaired, fluid buildup can increase eye pressure, leading to glaucoma, which may cause vision loss. The canal works like a drainage pipe, allowing excess fluid to exit the eye and keep the pressure balanced, ensuring the eye functions properly and remains healthy.
