Schleiden and Schwann

Theodor Schwann and Matthias Schleiden were scientists in the 1800s who helped us understand that all living organisms are made up of cells. Schleiden studied plants and concluded they consist of cells, while Schwann focused on animals and found they are made of cells too. Their work united the idea that cells are the basic building blocks of all life, leading to the development of cell theory. This understanding is fundamental to biology, explaining how plants, animals, and humans are interconnected through their cellular structure.
