SCAT

SCAT, the Standardized Assessment of Concussion, is a brief, structured test used by medical professionals to evaluate whether someone has a concussion, especially in sports settings. It involves questions about symptoms, memory, and concentration, as well as simple physical and cognitive tasks. The goal is to quickly identify signs of brain injury and guide appropriate care. While mainly used on the sidelines during sports events, it can also help assess brain function after any head injury. SCAT provides a consistent way to help determine the severity of a concussion and track recovery progress.
