Scar Tissue

Scar tissue is a type of fibrous tissue that forms as part of the healing process after an injury or surgery. When the skin or internal organs are damaged, the body replaces the normal tissue with scar tissue to close the wound. This tissue is often thicker and less flexible than the original, which can sometimes lead to limitations in movement, sensitivity changes, or cosmetic differences. While scar tissue helps protect the underlying structures, it does not have the same properties as the original tissue, and its appearance can vary based on the severity and location of the injury.
