Scabies

Scabies is a skin condition caused by tiny mites called Sarcoptes scabiei that burrow into the skin, leading to intense itching and a rash. Typically, the affected areas include between fingers, wrists, elbows, and genitals. The itching often worsens at night. Scabies spreads through close personal contact or sharing clothing and bedding. Diagnosis is usually made through examination by a healthcare professional. Treatment typically involves prescribed topical medications that kill the mites. It's important to treat close contacts as well to prevent re-infestation. Good hygiene and washing infested items are also crucial for recovery.
