SCA (Strong Customer Authentication)
Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is a security measure used in online payments to verify that the person making a transaction is authorized to do so. It typically requires at least two of three factors: something the customer knows (password), something they have (phone or card), or something they are (fingerprint or face). The goal is to reduce fraud and protect both consumers and merchants by ensuring that online payments are genuine. SCA is part of regulations like the EU’s PSD2, aiming to make digital transactions safer while maintaining convenience.
