SBND
SBND, or Short-Baseline Near Detector, is part of a larger scientific project studying neutrinos—tiny, nearly massless particles that pass through matter almost undetected. Located close to the neutrino source, SBND's role is to measure the initial properties of neutrinos before they travel farther. This helps scientists understand neutrino behavior and how they change or oscillate over distance. The data collected by SBND improves our knowledge of fundamental physics, including the nature of neutrinos and their role in the universe.
