Sayyid Brothers

The Sayyid Brothers were powerful nobles and military leaders in 18th-century India who played key roles in shaping the Mughal Empire's politics. Originally from Persia, they gained influence after helping restore Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah to power. Over time, they became kingmakers, controlling the empire’s officials and military actions. Their dominance, however, led to internal conflicts and instability. Despite their power, they ultimately lost favor and were overthrown, marking a period of great political upheaval that weakened the Mughal Empire before its eventual decline.
