Saul Perlmutter

Saul Perlmutter is an American astrophysicist known for his groundbreaking work in understanding the universe's expansion. He led a team that studied distant supernovae, which are exploding stars, revealing that the universe is not only expanding but doing so at an accelerating rate. This surprising discovery suggested the existence of dark energy, a mysterious force driving this acceleration.
