Saturn V launch vehicle
The Saturn V was a powerful American rocket used during the Apollo program to send astronauts to the Moon. It stood about 363 feet tall, making it one of the tallest rockets ever built. The rocket consisted of multiple stages that worked together: the first stage provided the initial thrust to leave Earth’s atmosphere; the second stage continued to accelerate the spacecraft; and the third stage placed the Apollo spacecraft onto its lunar trajectory. Its immense size and strength allowed it to carry heavy payloads, including astronauts, equipment, and fuel necessary for lunar missions, revolutionizing space exploration in the 1960s and 1970s.
