saturated diving

Saturated diving is a diving technique used for extended underwater work at great depths. Divers breathe a special gas mixture in pressurized habitats, which matches their body's nitrogen or helium levels, preventing nitrogen buildup that causes decompression sickness. When they go deep, they stay saturated—meaning their body tissues absorb enough gas so they don't need to decompress frequently. After working at depth for a set period, they undergo a controlled, multi-stage decompression process to safely return to the surface. This method allows divers to remain at high pressure longer and return safely, making it ideal for underwater construction, maintenance, and exploration projects.
