Satrapal authority
Satrapal authority refers to the governance system established by the ancient Persian Empire, where the empire was divided into regions called satrapies. Each satrapy was overseen by a satrap, a provincial governor responsible for administration, justice, and security. The satrap wielded significant local authority, managing revenues and maintaining order, but was ultimately subject to the central authority of the king. This system allowed for decentralized yet controlled governance across a vast empire, balancing regional autonomy with the empire’s unified rule.
