Satradhikar

A Satradhikar is a spiritual and administrative leader within certain Hindu traditions, particularly in Assam. The term combines "Sat" (truth or divine essence) and "Radhikar" (one who possesses or presides). Essentially, a Satradhikar oversees a Satra, a religious institution dedicated to teachings, spiritual practices, and community service centered around the worship of Lord Vishnu or Krishna. They are responsible for guiding devotees, performing rituals, managing the Satra’s activities, and upholding its religious traditions. In this role, they serve as both spiritual guides and community leaders, ensuring the continuation of the institution's spiritual and social functions.
