Saskatchewan elections
Saskatchewan elections are held to choose representatives called Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) who form the provincial government. Citizens 18 and older vote for candidates in specific areas known as ridings or constituencies. The political party with the most elected MLAs typically forms the government, with its leader becoming the Premier. Elections are usually held every four years, but can occur sooner if the government calls an early vote. The process involves candidates campaigning to gain voter support, ensuring a democratic choice in how the province is governed.
