Sargam notation

Sargam notation is a musical system used in Indian classical music to denote pitches, similar to solfège in Western music. It uses syllables—Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha, Ni—to represent the seven basic notes, which correspond to specific pitch levels. These syllables can be modified with prefixes like "Komal" for flat notes or "Tivra" for sharp notes. Sargam serves as a vocal and instrumental training tool, helping musicians understand scales, melodies, and improvisation within different ragas (musical modes). It's a universal framework that conveys pitch relationships clearly for performance and composition.
