Saratoga Campaign
The Saratoga Campaign was a pivotal series of battles during the American Revolutionary War in 1777, fought in upstate New York. British forces aimed to weaken the American revolutionaries by capturing key strategic locations, but American troops, led by General Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold, successfully blocked their advances. The turning point came when the British surrender their army after encirclement and defeat at Saratoga. This victory boosted American morale, secured French support, and is often considered the turning point that helped the colonies win independence.
