Sarah Bagley
Sarah Bagley was a 19th-century labor reform leader and advocate for workers’ rights, particularly for women and mill workers. She co-founded the New England Workingmen’s Association and was the first female telegraph operator in Boston. Bagley also served as a labor reporter and spokeswoman, advocating for fair wages, better working conditions, and the abolition of child labor. Her efforts helped highlight the struggles of industrial workers during the Industrial Revolution and contributed to early organized labor movements in the United States.
