Sand timer

A sand timer, also known as an hourglass, is a device used to measure a specific period of time. It consists of two glass chambers connected by a narrow passage, with fine sand inside. When flipped, gravity causes the sand to flow from the upper chamber to the lower one at a steady rate. The amount of sand and the size of the opening determine how long the timer lasts—commonly minutes or an hour. Sand timers are often used for cooking, games, or as visual reminders for time management.
