Samual Liddell MacGregor Mathers

Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers (1854–1918) was a prominent figure in the late 19th-century occult revival, best known for founding the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a secret society dedicated to studying ancient mystical and magical traditions. He was an expert in the esoteric sciences, including alchemy, tarot, and kabbalah, and contributed to the popularization of Western esoteric practices. His work influenced modern occultism, ceremonial magic, and the development of numerous subsequent mystical and magical organizations.
