SAML 2.0

SAML 2.0 (Security Assertion Markup Language) is a standard that allows different online systems to securely share identity information. It enables users to log in once ("single sign-on") and access multiple apps or services without re-entering credentials. When a user tries to access a service, the service requests authentication from a trusted identity provider, which confirms the user's identity and shares this trusted information securely. This process improves security and convenience, making it easier to manage access across various systems while reducing the risk of password-related issues.
