Samir Kassir was a renowned Lebanese historian, journalist, and political analyst known for his in-depth understanding of Middle Eastern history and the causes of regional conflicts. He was committed to promoting democracy, freedom of expression, and Lebanese sovereignty. Kassir wrote extensively on Lebanon’s history and the importance of national unity. Tragically, he was assassinated in 2005, widely believed to be due to his outspoken opposition to Syrian influence in Lebanon.
