Samaria Gorge

Samaria Gorge is a stunning natural canyon located on the island of Crete in Greece. Formed by the action of water erosion over thousands of years, it stretches approximately 16 kilometers (10 miles) through dramatic cliffs and rugged terrain. The gorge is a popular hiking destination, offering visitors a challenging trek through diverse landscapes, including lush vegetation, rocky paths, and panoramic views. Its rich flora and fauna, along with the impressive scenery, make it a notable site for nature enthusiasts. The trek usually takes about 4-6 hours and concludes at the seaside village of Agia Roumeli.
