Samaikyandhra movement
The Samaikyandhra movement was a political campaign in Andhra Pradesh, India, around 2013, advocating to keep the entire state united. It emerged in response to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, which aimed to create a separate Telangana state by bifurcating the existing state. Many residents and political groups feared that division would lead to economic and social challenges for the residual Andhra Pradesh, especially in Coastal and Rayalaseema regions. The movement involved protests and rallies, emphasizing the importance of unified state governance and regional integrity. Ultimately, the Indian government approved the bifurcation, leading to the formation of Telangana in 2014.
