Sam Rainsy Party

The Sam Rainsy Party was a Cambodian political party founded in 1995, named after its leader, Sam Rainsy. It represented opposition to the ruling Cambodian People's Party and promoted democracy, human rights, and political reform. The party aimed to challenge corruption, improve governance, and advance civil liberties. Over time, it became a significant voice for opposition politics in Cambodia, although it faced legal challenges and governmental restrictions. In 2018, it merged into the Cambodia National Rescue Party, continuing its efforts to promote democratic change within the country’s political landscape.
