Sam Hill

Sam Hill (1857–1931) was an influential American businessman and infrastructure pioneer, known for developing transportation and public works in the early 20th century. He financed and promoted the construction of the Columbia River Highway in Oregon, showcasing innovative road design. Hill also played a key role in establishing the National Park Highway and was a strong advocate for modernizing road systems across the U.S. Additionally, he founded the city of Richland, Washington, and contributed to the development of the American West through his investments and civic leadership.
