Salter-Harris Type II

Salter-Harris Type II is a common type of fracture in a growing child's bone, involving the growth plate (area of developing tissue near the ends of long bones). It extends through the growth plate and the adjacent bone, creating a fracture line that runs through the growth plate and the main part of the bone. This type of injury typically affects the distal (end) part of the long bone, like the area near the wrist or ankle. While it often heals well with proper treatment, it’s important to manage promptly to prevent potential growth disturbances.
