Salt Flat (Salar)

A salt flat, or salar, is a large, flat expanse of land covered with thick, crystalline salt deposits. These formations typically occur in desert regions where ancient lakes evaporated over time, leaving behind evaporite minerals like sodium chloride. Salt flats are characterized by their expansive, smooth surfaces that often shimmer under the sun.
