salt crystal

A salt crystal is a solid formed when salt (sodium chloride) naturally arranges its atoms in a repeating pattern, creating a structured, geometric shape. This process occurs when salty water evaporates, leaving behind the salt molecules that stick together in a cube-shaped crystal. Each crystal is made of tiny particles called ions—positively charged sodium and negatively charged chloride—that bond in a regular, orderly way. These crystals grow larger as more salt particles join the structure, resulting in the characteristic geometric shapes seen when salt is visible or in mineral deposits.
