Salish Tribes

The Salish tribes are Indigenous peoples native to the Pacific Northwest of North America, primarily in regions now called Washington, Idaho, and British Columbia. They share a common linguistic and cultural heritage, with many tribes such as the Coast Salish, Flathead, and Spokane. Traditionally, they relied on fishing (especially salmon), hunting, and gathering for sustenance. They are known for rich oral traditions, art, and complex social structures. Today, Salish tribes work to preserve their languages, culture, and rights while engaging in modern governance and economic activities.
