Salish language
The Salish languages are a group of related Indigenous languages spoken by the Salish peoples in the Pacific Northwest of North America, including regions of both the United States and Canada. These languages belong to the Salishan language family and are known for their complex phonetics and unique grammatical features, such as using prefixes and suffixes to convey meaning. They are deeply connected to the cultural identities and traditions of the Salish tribes. Despite historical pressures, some Salish languages are actively being preserved and revived through community efforts and educational programs.
