Salafi-Jihadism

Salafi-Jihadism is a radical Islamist ideology that seeks to establish a strict interpretation of Islamic principles by returning to what adherents believe are the original practices of the early Muslim community. It combines Salafism, advocating a purist approach to Islamic practice, with jihad, meaning a struggle or fight, often interpreted as violent and aimed at removing Western influence and non-Muslim governments. Its followers often justify terrorism and violence as necessary means to achieve their goal of creating a society governed strictly by their understanding of Islamic law.
