Salafi
Salafism is an Islamic movement that emphasizes returning to the practices and beliefs of the earliest Muslims, known as the Salaf or "pious ancestors." It advocates for a strict interpretation of Islamic teachings, emphasizing purity, simplicity, and adherence to the Quran and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad). Salafis often seek to emulate the lifestyles of the Prophet and his companions, aiming to live a life closest to Islamic foundations. While most Salafis pursue their faith peacefully, some factions advocate for strict social and religious codes, and in rare cases, this has led to confrontational or extremist viewpoints.
