
Saitō Yoshitatsu
Saitō Yoshitatsu (1539–1586) was a Japanese samurai and daimyo during the Sengoku period, known for his leadership of the Saitō clan in Mino Province. He was the son of the famed Saitō Dōsan. Yoshitatsu expanded his clan’s influence and fought against rival clans, notably aligning with Oda Nobunaga at times. Despite military prowess, his reign was marked by internal conflicts and rivalries. His leadership helped maintain his clan’s prominence in a turbulent era, and his efforts contributed to the regional power struggles that shaped Japan’s history during this period.
