Saint Thomas More

Saint Thomas More was an influential English lawyer, scholar, and statesman who served as Lord Chancellor under King Henry VIII. Renowned for his integrity and intellectual pursuits, he refused to support the king’s break from the Catholic Church and the creation of the Church of England, particularly over the issue of the king's divorce. His steadfast adherence to his conscience and faith led to his execution in 1535. Canonized as a saint in 1935, he is remembered as a symbol of moral conviction, the importance of principle, and the rule of law.
