Saint Louise de Marillac (1591–1660) was a French religious sister and co-founder of the Daughters of Charity, an organization dedicated to serving the poor and sick. She dedicated her life to helping those marginalized by society, especially women and children. Known for her compassion, humility, and organizational skills, she worked alongside Saint Vincent de Paul to create a community of women committed to active charity. Her efforts transformed social and healthcare services in France and she was canonized as a saint in 1934, recognized for her deep faith and tireless dedication to serving others in need.
