Saint Jude (Apostle)
Saint Jude, also known as Jude Thaddeus, was one of Jesus' twelve apostles. He is often invoked as the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes because of his association with urgent prayers. Jude is believed to have been a close follower of Jesus, spreading Christianity after Jesus’ resurrection. He is traditionally credited with writing the Epistle of Jude in the New Testament, offering guidance and urging perseverance in faith. In art, he is typically depicted with a medallion or a club, symbolizing his martyrdom. His feast day is celebrated on October 28.
